FAMU Football Prepares for Key SWAC Showdowns: Must-Win Games Ahead;
Florida A&M's football team is gearing up to dive into their Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) schedule. Currently sitting at 2-2, the Rattlers will face off against the Alabama State Hornets (1-2) on October 5 in Montgomery, marking their first SWAC game of the season.
The Rattlers’ original matchup against Alabama A&M, scheduled for earlier, was postponed to November 29 due to Hurricane Helene, leaving them one game behind in the SWAC standings. With eight conference games ahead, FAMU is focused on defending its title against tough competition.

FAMU at Alabama State (Oct. 5) ;The Rattlers open their SWAC campaign against Alabama State during the Hornets' homecoming celebration. While Alabama State is ranked first in the SWAC East, quarterback injuries have hampered their performance. This is an opportunity for FAMU to make an early statement in the conference race.
FAMU at Jackson State (Oct. 19); This pivotal matchup in Jackson, Mississippi, promises to be intense. Jackson State has posed a consistent challenge to FAMU since joining the SWAC in 2021, but the Rattlers secured a breakthrough win last year. However, Jackson State boasts the second-best defense in the SWAC, making this a critical game for FAMU’s title hopes.
