Kolkata: Doctors protesting in connection with the Kolkata rape-murder case have announced plans to take to the streets again ahead of Durga Puja. Speaking at a mass convention at SSKM Hospital, Dr. Debashish Haldar emphasized that their movement is ongoing and urged people to join the upcoming protests.

"We have heard that some believe our protests have subsided, but we want to make it clear that we are still active," said Dr. Haldar. "On September 29, we will protest across localities, and on Mahalaya, October 2, we plan a larger rally at Esplanade. We request everyone to join."

Recently, the protesting doctors also sent a reminder email to Chief Secretary Manoj Pant, urging the implementation of previously approved demands.

"Did they receive justice? The administration met some of their demands, and they lifted their protest. What should we understand from this?" Ghosh asked.

In response, Dr. Aniket Mahata clarified that the protest was not lifted but that they had resumed emergency services and are prepared to continue protesting if necessary.
